(Are there) Set-Up fees, if any, for the ceremony?
Your reception charge of $750.00 includes the areas for your ceremony and reception. Chairs, tables, linens and table settings are included in this price. If you wish to have additional decorations or chair covers, we can quote you a price based on what you require.

What is the MEC’s payment policy ?
We require the room charge of $750.00 as a deposit to hold the venue for you. All other costs must be paid ten days prior to your event. We will send you an invoice for the remaining charges, such as the Bar Packages or last minute add-ons.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
The deposit is non refundable.

How many simultaneous events will be held?
For your privacy and enjoyment, we only allow one wedding per evening.

Time available for ceremony rehearsal? Reception room decoration?
We will work to schedule a time that works to your advantage. Traditionally, we allow a few hours the evening before for a rehearsal and the morning of the wedding for decorations. If you need access to the site the day before, we can coordinate the schedule with you to make that possible.

Can I tour the facilities? Sample the Food?
Yes. We would love to show you the MEC and provide a taste test. Just call for an appointment.

What style of food service is available?
Our food service can be provided in both sit down style or buffet variety. Several wonderful packages are available for your choosing.

Will Ceremony decorations coordinate with color scheme or are they standard?
The MEC has white skirts and linens for our weddings. If needed, we can always rent other colors of linens or skirts to match your scheme. Our dining rooms and lobby have decorative carpet and artwork that works well with any palate. You can see pictures of our facility here.

Other rental items available and fees?
We have a full line of state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment that can be rented from the MEC. A coordinator would be happy to quote you prices.

Parking Availability?
The MEC has spacious free parking. If you would like to hire valet services, we can contact a service and relate the fee to you.

Any music restrictions for the venue?
No. Since we only have one wedding at a time, you are free to be as expressive and original in your music choices.

Are there any restrictions for the photographer or videographer?
No restrictions, your photographer may arrangements to visit the MEC before the wedding if they have any special requests.

(Is there a) Back-up plan given inclement weather?
Yes. The MEC of Troy has a 320 seat Auditorium which can be used if the garden patio selection is not available due to bad weather. We also have many options for using our dramatic Atrium Lobby for the ceremony. A coordinator would be happy to review all the available locations with you.

What about overnight accommodations?
The MEC is located near many major hotels. We also have special rates set up with the Embassy Suites of Troy.  Please click here to view list

Policies

Food And Beverage
City and state health and liquor laws require that the MEC not allow any food or beverage to be brought into, or taken from, the facility by our guests. The Center will purchase any special items requested from a licensed purveyor. Food and beverage must be consumed on premises, and are subject to 18% gratuity and 6% Michigan sales tax. When ordering food & beverage services, we must have your menu selections and estimated quantities 10 full business days prior to your function. A final guaranteed guest count is required 3 full business days prior to your function. You will be charged for the guaranteed number or the actual number of guests served, whichever is greater.

Pricing
All price quotes are subject to change to meet increased operating costs. Patron agrees to pay such increased prices and to accept reasonable substitutions. All room prices will be guaranteed for 60 days from the date a reservation is confirmed.

Smoking
The Management Education Center is a non-smoking facility. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Messages
Except for emergency calls, all messages received during your event will be posted on the message board under the marquee at each conference room.

Liabilities
The event organizer will be held liable for any and all damages to the facilities by their guests or independent contractors. The Management Education Center will not assume liability for any personal property, merchandise, or equipment left on the premises.
